Beyond Measures of Racism and Class.

The natural laws are very much real. The common expression we use daily is a practical example: "One good turn deserves another." A handy passage in the bible that communicates a similar idea is "Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap; because the amount you measure out is the amount you will be given back" (Luke 6:38).
An organist or choirmaster who devotes his talent teaching others in the worship of God at liturgical celebrations, unconsciously improves more on his skills. Recently I watched a video of a young man who walked into a Chinese restaurant, ordered his meal and sat down to savour it. Immediately he observed through the windows an indigent woman with her two children sitting in the restaurant's court yard begging for alms from those who patronize the restaurant. Their situation touched him. He left his food untouched, walked out of the restaurant and invited them to join him at his table. He ordered meals for them. All eyes in the restaurant were fixed on them because it was strange for a pauper to dine with a rich in such exotic and magnificent place. This scenario caught the attention of the manager of the restaurant. He personally prepared the bill of the young man and his guests and delivered it to him at his table. When they were through with their meal, the young man went to the cashier to pay his bill. On opening the bill slip, he saw boldly written 'FREE'. The management has taken care of his bills because his kind gesture to the poor family was an uncommon act. He not only bought them meals but dine with them not minding the disparity between his personal status and theirs.
You can see the truism of the biblical expression "Givers never lack." "Give and more will be given to you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap; because the amount you measure out is the amount you will be given back" ( Luke 6: 38).
In the history of mankind, it has never been heard or put on record that anyone became poor or degenerated in wealth, status, gifts, talents, health or value because he/she helped others but rather numerous blessings come to such persons. Our greatness happens when we make a positive difference in the life of others. Thus we can borrow a leaf from the act of this young man not to allow consciousness of race, tribe, religion and societal status to impact negatively our judgment in our dealing with others.
